MSM recognizes the Tech Rout in the US stock market, but it goes deeper than that. Not only are Techs (Nasdaq 100) selling off sharply relative to the S&P 500 but also small cap stocks (Russell 2000). The Matrix's Intermarket US Stocks Market Cap Leader table shows only the Dow Industrials are leading the S&P500 (see MC Comparison). This defines a very specific rally defined as "International Big Money" by the computer. International Big Money backdrop seeks liquidity and safety of mega cap stocks the populate indices such as the Dow Industrials when its more worried about return of capital rather than return on capital.
The majority (investment public), however, does not recognize this backdrop. They're not putting it together that the invisible hand is worried. The worry stems from record low Dividend Yield Cycle means 1-4 and 1-6 (See #DividendYield Cycle Review $SPY #ES_F), extreme optimism (see #Sentiment Review $SPX), and highly focused rallies (see Sector Alignment in the Trends Tab of the Matrix).
Intermarket Trends Market Cap Comparison
Do not discount these warnings. This is not opinion but rather observation of the invisible hand. That's what the Matrix is all about.
