Zohran Mamdani, the Democratic nominee for New York City mayor, has made efforts to court moderate voters since winning the primary in June. While he has taken steps like meeting with business leaders and condemning controversial rhetoric, skepticism remains about his political views, inexperience, and lack of support from key Democratic lawmakers. Notably, top figures like Chuck Schumer and Hakeem Jeffries have yet to endorse him.

Though Governor Kathy Hochul and Attorney General Letitia James have backed him, others, such as Congressman Dan Goldman, continue to raise concerns — particularly about rising antisemitism and Mamdani's ability to ensure public safety.
