Mark Carney has been "elected" as the new leader of Canada's ruling Liberal Party and is set to succeed Justin Trudeau as the country's next Prime Minister. Carney, a former central banker, is making his first foray into Canadian politics at the highest level4. He will be sworn in as Prime Minister in the coming days.
