Venezuela, China, and New Monroe Doctrine

The United States has seized two oil tankers linked to Venezuela in the Atlantic as part of President Donald Trump’s effort to control oil flows in the Americas and pressure Venezuela’s socialist government. The move follows a U.S. military raid in Caracas that led to the arrest of President Nicolás Maduro and marks an escalation of enforcement against vessels accused of transporting sanctioned oil. U.S. officials say the tankers are part of a “shadow fleet” used to evade sanctions, while Russia and China condemned the actions as aggressive and destabilizing. Washington is simultaneously considering limited sanctions relief to allow U.S.-controlled sales of Venezuelan oil under terms aligned with American interests.

Venezuela Part of The New Monroe Doctrine

President Donald Trump has launched a new military campaign against Latin American drug cartels, beginning with drone strikes that destroyed suspected smuggling boats in the Caribbean. Framed as a war on “narcoterrorism,” the strikes form part of a broader geopolitical strategy known within his administration as the “Donroe Doctrine.”

Behind the campaign lies a fusion of old wartime laws, intelligence operations, and trade policies aimed at reasserting U.S. dominance in the Western Hemisphere and curbing Chinese and Russian influence, particularly in Venezuela. A massive U.S. naval presence off Venezuela’s coast has fueled speculation of a regime-change effort against Nicolás Maduro, with Trump openly linking his government to drug cartels.

Advisers Marco Rubio and Stephen Miller have helped shape the initiative, which intertwines Trump’s goals on national security, immigration, and economic control. The administration is also using the regional buildup to strengthen U.S. influence in Guyana, Suriname, and Argentina, promoting American investment and pressuring nations to distance themselves from Beijing.

Beyond Latin America, the strategy extends to Africa, where Trump has pivoted toward mineral-rich nations to counter China’s dominance in rare earth supplies.

While the campaign has bolstered Trump’s political standing at home, it has drawn international criticism. Several Latin American leaders accuse the U.S. of unlawful aggression and risking regional stability under the guise of counter-narcotics operations.

Expanding Scope Of The New Monroe Doctrine

Tensions between Colombian President Gustavo Petro and U.S. President Donald Trump have escalated sharply, with Petro accusing Trump of ignorance and disrespect after Trump criticized Colombia’s drug policies and threatened to cut aid. Petro defended his peace efforts and rejected U.S. military actions, including a strike that allegedly killed a Colombian fisherman, as violations of sovereignty. The Colombian government condemned Trump’s statements and highlighted its sacrifices in fighting drug trafficking.

Despite Petro's criticism of recent U.S. strikes, his administration plans to prosecute survivors of a suspected drug submersible. Meanwhile, Trump announced an end to U.S. subsidies to Colombia, calling them a “rip off.” Analysts warn that deteriorating U.S.-Colombia relations could have serious consequences for regional security, especially as tensions with Venezuela rise.

US $20B Lifeline to Argentina

The U.S. Treasury finalized a $20 billion currency swap deal with Argentina and began purchasing pesos on the open market, fulfilling President Trump's pledge to support the country's struggling economy. The move led to a sharp rise in Argentina’s peso, bonds, and stock market. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent emphasized the action wasn’t a bailout and said it served strategic U.S. interests, including Argentina’s efforts to reduce Chinese influence and open up its critical mineral sector to U.S. firms.

The deal followed four days of talks involving Argentine officials and the IMF, which backed the U.S. move as aligned with Argentina’s economic reform agenda. Critics, including Senate Democrats, condemned the timing—amid a U.S. government shutdown—and accused Trump of prioritizing foreign aid over domestic needs. The support is seen as a political boost for President Milei ahead of Argentina’s October midterm elections, though public resistance to his austerity measures remains high.

“WTF,” says agriculture, the middle class, and many others. We're not necessarily here to agree — we're here to explain.

#Soybeans Review $SOYB #ZS_F - Soybeans Caught In Modernized Version of The Monroe Doctrine

Soybeans Review
Short-term price fluctuations do not influence long-term trends, cycles, and profitability. The majority, guided by price trends and emotions, concentrate on short-term trading noise rather than cyclical trends of price, time, and energy. This focus creates confusion, frustration, missed chances, and typically leaves them holding the bag during trend shifts. Investors can sidestep this pattern by embracing the Evolution of the Trade and aligning with the minority.

Soybeans' overall trend, revealed by trends of price, leverage, and time, are defined and discussed in The Matrix for subscribers.

Soybeans Caught In Modernized Version of The Monroe Doctrine

A sharp decline in U.S. soybean exports to China is threatening more than just farmers — it could soon affect trucking, rail freight, and port operations nationwide. China, once the largest buyer of American soybeans, has shifted to South American suppliers due to ongoing trade tensions and high tariffs. With no new soybean orders from China for the 2025–2026 crop year, freight demand is expected to fall sharply, impacting jobs and infrastructure, especially in top soybean-producing states like Illinois, Iowa, and Minnesota. Midwest soybeans are typically shipped by rail to ports in the Pacific Northwest, which could now see reduced activity.
