#Grains Review #Corn #Soybeans #Wheat #Ag - Chinese Trade Won't Reverse Stagflation

Grains Review
Short-term price fluctuations do not influence long-term trends, cycles, and profitability. The majority, guided by price trends and emotions, concentrate on short-term trading noise rather than cyclical trends of price, time, and energy. This focus creates confusion, frustration, missed chances, and typically leaves them holding the bag during trend shifts. Investors can sidestep this pattern by embracing the Evolution of the Trade and aligning with the minority.

Grain's overall trend, revealed by trends of price, leverage, and time, are defined and discussed in The Matrix for subscribers.

A growing chorus in Ag believes a Chinese trade deal will save American farmers.

Ag's timing track record, however, leaves much to be desired. Prices would need a substantial rally to offset farming costs amid stagflation. Agriculture is a grueling business when grain prices lag behind input expenses. Our output/input oscillator, a timing indicator independent of government data, reveals that little has changed. Farm profitability, which deteriorated in July 2025, shows no signs of recovery. Caution remains warranted, despite the prevailing bullish chatter.

Farm Bailout, History Repeats

The #Corn, #Soybeans, and #Wheat Reports, a series of video updates for subscribers, expand the discussion below.

President Donald Trump is considering a $10 to $14 billion aid package for U.S. farmers impacted by trade tensions with China, particularly those in the soybean industry. According to The Wall Street Journal, the aid would be funded largely through tariff revenue and could begin distribution in the coming months. Discussions are ongoing, and no final decisions have been made.

White House officials emphasized the importance of supporting farmers, who were significantly affected by the earlier trade war with China, which led to a major drop in soybean exports. During Trump's first term, the government provided about $23 billion to offset losses, with soybean producers accounting for over 70% of those damages.

Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent said an announcement on the new aid could come as early as Tuesday. He noted the severe impact of China's continued freeze on U.S. soybean purchases and warned of possible storage issues due to a record harvest. He also hinted at a potential breakthrough in trade talks following a planned meeting between Trump and Chinese President Xi Jinping in South Korea at the end of October. Trump confirmed soybeans would be a key topic in that discussion.

Farmers across the U.S. are facing a crisis due to persistently low commodity prices and high input costs, pushing many to the brink of collapse. While calls for government aid are growing louder, producers argue that temporary bailouts are insufficient and fail to address the root problems. A heated meeting in Arkansas on September 2, 2025, drew over 400 frustrated farmers who voiced urgent concerns about monopolies, market failure, and mismanagement in agriculture. Many now demand lasting, systemic reforms rather than short-term relief.

The only thing that matters is following the invisible hand, and checking our beliefs at the front door. There is only what is, and what isn't. Every bear market in grains, especially today's, is a reminder of the importance of recognizing the primary trend, and NEVER fighting it. Do not trade, invest, or produce against the primary trend. Corn, Soybeans, and Wheat's primary downtrends have been in place for 31, 21, and 35 months.

Tariffs have been causing significant challenges for US farmers. New tariffs have been imposed on imports from countries like Canada, Mexico, and China. These tariffs have led to increased costs for essential farming supplies, such as fertilizer and equipment, and have also resulted in retaliatory tariffs on U.S. agricultural exports.

Farmers are particularly concerned about the impact on their income, as the last major trade war led to over $27 billion in agricultural losses for U.S. farmers. The uncertainty surrounding these tariffs is making it difficult for farmers to plan for the upcoming planting season and secure operating loans.

In addition to the financial strain, the tariffs are also affecting the overall agricultural market, with some farmers worried that the current crop market could be pushed into a depression. The situation is causing a lot of stress and uncertainty for farmers across the country.

Important Trend Inflection in 2025?

Agricultural producers are likely perplexed by pricing as the 2025 growing season and its peak strength approach. The past six months in the grain markets have been anything but dull. Significant downtrends have emerged, with gross profits dipping as much as 43% for corn, 21% for soybeans, and 68% for wheat, over periods ranging from 13 to 27 months. While the gross profit numbers have risen from their lows today, they're still positive (see Primary Trend Table For Grains).

We can only hope that all our subscribers have learned to follow the money, rather than the opinions of mainstream and social media. Perhaps the "Everything Is Awesome" perspective will attract fresh eyes. Opportunity costs, like the grinding sideways action in grains while risk-on assets like #Bitcoin rip to new highs, should compel others to understand the cycles of price, time, and energy. Investors, traders, farmers, ranchers, workers, students, and more need to grasp the invisible hand to survive.

Wheat is losing momentum and showing signs of distribution as prices fall. The situation with #Corn is even worse. The recent rally is masking aggressive distribution from one reporting period to the next. Aggressive distribution during a decline with triple downside alignment is a warning. The Corn, Soybean, and Wheat Reports describe reveal the trends, ensuring that more than just the commission handlers survive and thrive. Join the minority, or the invisible hand will come for your sanity.

The majority, driven by false assumptions and fundamentals, consistently breaks the rules of engagement for the lure of future profits. Their lack of trading discipline typically leaves them holding the bag. Sorry, this is the trading game that never changes.

Please download the PREV Matrix and look at the composite grains DI.

Before Ag enthusiasts get excited about the individual energy builds for #wheat, #corn, and #soybeans, please be advised that the invisible hand does not reward points for being early. The wannabe Ag heroes, always eager to call the bottom, will be emboldened with every rally attempt. Remember, bottoms require energy, with DI and DI2 spikes above 40%. Are we close?
