AfD Labelled Right Wing Extremist Needing Surveillance
Germany's domestic intelligence agency, the Federal Office for the Protection of the Constitution (BfV), has officially designated the far-right Alternative for Germany (AfD) party as a “right-wing extremist” organization. This classification, announced on May 2, 2025, permits authorities to intensify surveillance measures, including the use of informants and interception of communications.
