Dick Cheney's Funeral
Former Vice President Dick Cheney, who died on Nov. 3 at age 84, is being honored Thursday at a private funeral service at the National Cathedral, with a public livestream available. Liz Cheney praised her father’s belief in putting country over party, noting their shared criticism of former President Trump and their 2024 support for Vice President Kamala Harris. Former President George W. Bush also eulogized Cheney, calling him “a gentleman” and “a true man of the West.” President Biden and Vice President Harris are attending, while Vice President JD Vance is not. According to a senior White House official, Trump was not invited and has issued no public statement on Cheney’s death.
