Regime Change Iran Through Airstrikes Won't Work
After the killing of Ali Khamenei, senior U.S. officials are skeptical that U.S. and Israeli strikes will lead to near-term regime change in Iran. Although Donald Trump had suggested that toppling Iran’s leadership was among the operation’s goals, intelligence assessments reportedly concluded that Khamenei would likely be replaced by other hardline figures, potentially from the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), rather than triggering systemic change.
