State Of The Union Bad Theatre
During his State of the Union address, Donald Trump faced intense backlash from Democrats over immigration, alleged fraud in Minnesota’s Somali community, and the Epstein files. Lawmakers including Ilhan Omar, Rashida Tlaib and Al Green heckled or protested during the speech, with Green removed from the chamber. Some Democrats boycotted the address or attended alternative events, while Abigail Spanberger delivered the official Democratic response, accusing Trump of corruption and condemning his immigration policies. The speech, the longest on record, also focused on affordability, tariffs and tensions with Iran, amid low approval ratings.
