Most Americans do not have access to the inner circle of influence, politics, and power, but we can sense trouble. The optics of this election, created by perception or deception, will not be easily forgotten by the country and world. The "blue wave", widely predicted by MSM, failed to materialize. Democrats lost seats and were denied control of the Senate. With that said, critical swing states eked out victories for Biden through the aid of mail-in ballots. These favorable outcomes could be coincidence, but (too) many will view it differently.
They'll remember extreme polling errors that "predicted" a wide margin of victory for Clinton 2016 and Biden 2020. The optics of these predictions defines the pollsters as incompetent, biased, or a combination of the two. Unfortunately, (too) many following the old saying, “Fool me once, shame on me. Fool me twice, shame on you" will be embraced. Many will ignore polls and the media the supports them in the next election cycle.
The nation will remember major, well-respected news outlets did little to challenge polling data and provide what they perceive as objective election coverage. Many people underestimate how the MSM's coverage of the election and many other topics in 2020 has destroyed its credibility. If citizens associate either political party with it, they will be viewed negatively even if a concerted effort is made to repair the damage.
A Biden victory could be fleeting. Trust in the election process has taken some sort of hit for some if not all Americans. The public will look for scapegoats and are less likely to seek MSM's interpretations and reporting. The suggestion that America has shot itself in the foot in 2020 will become more apparent as the next election cycle approaches.
The country is dividend and searching for representation within an increasingly corrupt political system. The seeds of change have been sown. Political parties must adapt and change, or they'll be out of a job. People are not looking for handouts but rather self-fulfillment and freedom. If they believe that they can't find that in either party, new ones will form.
