Poland, Drones, and NATO
The Kremlin reiterated that Russian forces did not target Poland and expressed willingness to discuss the recent drone incident, which led to an emergency U.N. Security Council meeting scheduled for Friday at Poland’s request. Polish leaders responded defiantly, with Prime Minister Donald Tusk and President Karol Nawrocki praising military readiness and pledging continued modernization, including the arrival of U.S. F-35 jets next year. Poland introduced air traffic restrictions in its east and is closing its Belarus border amid nearby military exercises. Some drones reportedly entered from Belarus. Meanwhile, China urged Poland to keep trade routes open. Analysts suggest Russia is testing European resolve, while U.S. reactions remain cautious. Ukraine continues to defend against daily drone attacks and announced a joint interceptor drone production deal with the U.K.
