Few Living the American Dream
A fresh POLITICO poll exposes a gut-wrenching wave of pessimism gripping Americans over the nation's crumbling trajectory. A heartbreaking 49% declare the country's glory days are dust in the rearview, edging out the 41% clinging to hope for a brighter tomorrow. Cutting across party divides, faith in government lies in tatters, roughly two-thirds convinced the powers-that-be routinely spew lies to the masses.
Democrats drown in pessimism, while Republicans burst with optimism for America's dawn ahead. A jaw-dropping two-thirds of Kamala Harris diehards grieve that the nation's peak has passed. This clashes with the bulk of Donald Trump devotees of the best has yet to come. More than half of Harris supports sneer at America as a sham democracy, and a brutal 70% believe that daily life has tanked hard in the last half-decade.
The American Dream is vanishing into thin air, as a staggering 46% of Americans declare it dead and gone, particularly among wide-eyed young adults staring at a bleak future. A whopping 59% agree that political polarization has spiraled into outright warfare, while 61% admit their social circles are echo chambers packed with like-minded friends.
Even amid crushing disillusionment, a resilient 64% of Americans still beam with pride in their stars-and-stripes identity. A razor-thin majority, 52%, demands radical upheaval to salvage everyday life, while over a third (35%) whisper that outright revolution might be the only shot at salvation.
