What's Going On In New York City?

More than 584,000 New Yorkers have already voted ahead of Election Day, according to the city’s Board of Elections. During the final weekend of early voting, the three mayoral candidates — Democrat Zohran Mamdani, independent Andrew Cuomo, and Republican Curtis Sliwa — campaigned across the five boroughs to reach undecided voters.

A new Atlas poll of over 1,500 voters shows Mamdani leading with 40%, followed by Cuomo at 34% and Sliwa at 24%, suggesting the race may be tightening. Mamdani emphasized his affordability agenda alongside Rev. Al Sharpton and received a supportive call from former President Barack Obama. Cuomo highlighted his experience and ability to handle crises, citing the anniversary of Hurricane Sandy. Sliwa, focusing on public safety, positioned himself as the blue-collar candidate representing working-class New Yorkers.

Early voting ends Sunday, with Election Day set for Tuesday.
