Supreme Court Rules Against Tariffs
The U.S. Supreme Court ruled 6–3 against former President Donald Trump, striking down his sweeping global tariffs imposed under emergency powers. The majority, led by Chief Justice John Roberts, said the Constitution clearly gives Congress—not the President—the power to levy taxes and tariffs. The decision blocks the tariffs enacted under the International Emergency Economic Powers Act and marks a major setback for Trump’s economic agenda.
